indian reservation is just a place in a state. one still has to be accepted into the residency training program. i really appreciate any ideas, any contacts, any names of people in high position in hospitals . every bit helps.

to elaine of TSA,sandy,soulight i am checking all your suggestions i am so...desperate, scared and worried. i love medicine. i love taking care of patients. i pray and hope i et a residency training position soon. i appreciate all the help i am getting from each one of you.

Read pdf on OHL and give the director a call and explain what you need and ask if he can advise or refer you to facility to do your residency.

Hi mddegree , My former sister-in-law is a physician and she did her residency on an Indian reservation . Have you considered this option ? Also , some do there residencies overseas. soulight

to elaine of TSA i am knocking at doors and making phone calls. but i am talking to strangers who say " sorry, we have no openings for residency"but i know that if someone puts in a word for me, i can get in and am sure i will get a residency training position. i need someone to put in a word for me.

They are desperate in the area and I am sure that doors would open if you knocked. What have you got to lose by asking?

to elaine of TSA i need to get residency training before i can work as a physician. one needs to have "connections" to get into a residency program. this is generally what happens in cities. i want to and am willing to get training and work in rural parts of the country.but i need some program director to accept me in his/ her program.

The gulf coast area has offered grants, incentives, bonuses, educational debt assistance and placement assistance to encourage people in all areas of the medical profession to relocate and provide much needed services to the remaining population. Check us.gov and also the affected states official web pages for info and grants.

I am a MD from Ross University school of medicine (2002). I have tried continuously year after year to get a training position. but i did not succeed. I do not have any contacts with any program directors who can take me in their program or help me to get a position in any other program. I am a US citizen and am willing to go anywhere in this country for training in Family practice. I love medicine. I have been extremely unfortunate . I pray one of you can help me with this. I am good at my work. I have good experience (voluntary). I am extremely grateful to any influential person who can help me get into any hospital anywhere in the country for training. Thank you
